Post-doctoral fellow, bioinformatics/computational biology: Apply

Staff scientist, bioinformatician: Apply

See below details for the post-doctoral fellow positions.

Post-doctoral fellow, statistical genetics/genetic epidemiology

The Patsopoulos Laboratory at the Ann Romney Center of Neurological Diseases (ARCND) in Brigham & Women’s Hospital and Harvard Medical School is seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral fellow to be part of a leading team that aims to unravel the mechanisms of neurodegenerative and autoimmune diseases.

The Patsopoulos Lab is leading large-scale efforts to decipher the genetic component of neurodegenerative and autoimmune diseases, and specializes in integrating extensive heterogeneous data to inform personalized decision-making. The group uses in-house and publicly available data for the unbiased identification of key genes and pathways; it also designs avant-garde experimental procedures to create cell-specific and patient-specific response networks. The group collaborates closely with teams in ARCND, the Brigham & Women’s Hospital, and the Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard.

We are looking for one (1) post-doctoral fellow to join our group and work on large-scale genetics analysis with GWAS and WES/WGS data. Background in statistical genetics, genetic epidemiology, or computer science is preferred. Excellent skills in scripting, e.g. bash, Python, and statistical languages, e.g. R, are prerequisite.

The candidates should have demonstrated excellent scientific productivity, evidenced by high-quality research publications, and be able to conduct independent creative research, as well as show good interpersonal and communication skills. Ph.D., M.D. or equivalent degree is required for all positions.

To apply, please email your CV and a cover letter summarizing your experience, along with the contact information of three references to npatsopoulos@rics.bwh.harvard.edu addressed to Nikolaos Patsopoulos M.D.,Ph.D., Assistant Professor of Neurology and Genetics. This position will remain open until the best fit candidate is identified.
